Hannah's Wings
Hannah Lassette Ahlers left a profound impact on everyone she met. As a loving mother, devoted daughter, the "cool mom" to her friends’ children, and a devout follower of Christ, she was cherished by all who knew her.
Her Legacy
Born on June 2, 1983, in Bellflower, California, to Robert Joseph Magiera and Theresa Lassette Hill, Hannah was raised in Redlands. From an early age, her faith in Christ was deeply rooted. Her friend Jason Pendleton reminisced about how she first met her husband, Brian Ahlers, at a youth group when she was just 10 years old.
In addition to her husband and three children, Ahlers is survived by her father, mother, and her step-father Frank Hill; brother and sister-in-law Lance and Vicky Miller; sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Adrian Avalos; several nieces and nephews; and her in-laws, including Dave and Chris Ahlers, and Pamela and Vern Klatt.
Six Years Later,
Brian Ahlers asked his future bride out on a date. It wasn’t too long after that he went off to school “to follow in his father’s footsteps” at Redlands Jewelers, Pendleton said, that Brian Ahlers realized he had “one gem in his life he simply couldn’t live without.”
Brian Ahlers proposed at a Fourth of July celebration, and six months later on Jan. 21, married 2001, the couple “stood before family and God and said ‘I do.'” Hannah Ahlers was just 17.
“It’s hard to believe that 17 years later she would take her last breath on Earth. But you know, she was proud of those 17 years,” Pendleton said.
Hannah and Brian built a beautiful life together, marked by love, laughter, and devotion. They shared 17 precious years of marriage, raising their three children:
Hannah had a love for fashion, shopping, and self-care. She enjoyed manicures, pedicures, and loved “getting her hair did.” More than anything, she cherished being a stay-at-home mom and spending quality time with her family.
Pendleton recalled the couple’s early years of married life briefly, sharing a story about Hannah Ahlers purchasing furniture for the couple’s new home on a whim.
Her husband, Pendleton said, came home “shocked” and called the furniture store to have the items returned.
“It was one of the very few times I saw Brian say no to Hannah,” Pendleton said with a chuckle.
was spending time with her best friend, Brian. Friday nights were often 'Date Night' in the Ahlers home," Pendleton recalled.
In a statement, her husband, Brian Ahlers, expressed his love and admiration for Hannah:
"She was beautiful inside and out. She wasn’t too good for anybody, and she was an amazing full-time mom."
“One love more important than anything else was her love for Jesus Christ,” he continued. “And she will spend an eternity in the presence of that love, and I know that was one of her heart’s desires.”
